グラビア印刷の”グラビア”は文字通り、現代のグラビア雑誌の”グラビア”と同じであり、語源は1970年代に女性タレントを使う雑誌が増えて、その際に使っていた印刷手法がグラビア印刷が主流だったことからきております。

オフセット印刷との違いは大量生産には向いていない点、写真や色の濃淡が表現出来ることです。
