昨日はインクの選定に関してお話ししました。お客様の印刷物の用途により、(使う環境によって) 使用するインキの種類が変わってくるというお話でした。

本日は、印刷後の処理方法に関してになります。印刷完了後は通常の場合、インキが固まるまでエアコンの効いた部屋で自然乾燥させていきます。しかし硬化剤が入った２液タイプのインクを使用する場合、もしくは特定の素材(金属類, etc)に印刷する場合は強制乾燥をしたほうがインキの密着性が良くなります。強制乾燥とは釜などを使い温度設定を行った熱風を当てて乾燥させていく方法になります。

インキが乾燥し終わった後は、密着テストを行います。一つの方法としてあるのが”クロスカットテープテスト”　になります。
まず印刷生地まで届く深さまで印刷部分に切り込みを入れます。(カッターなどで)　そして切り込み面にセロテープをくっ付け強く引っ張ります。
これで、インキがテープに少しでも残っていたら、インキの密着は失敗となります。

Ink Adhesion ②

Yesterday we talked about ink selection. I was told that the type of ink used changes depending on the purpose of the customer’s printed matter (depending on the environment in which it will be used).

Today we will be talking about processing methods after printing. After printing is complete, the ink is normally left to dry naturally in an air-conditioned room until it hardens. However, when using two-component ink that contains a hardening agent, or when printing on certain materials (metals, etc.), forced drying will improve the adhesion of the ink. Forced drying is a method of drying by blowing hot air at a set temperature using a pot or similar device.

After the ink has dried, perform an adhesion test. One method is the “cross-cut tape test.”
First, make a cut in the printing area deep enough to reach the printing fabric. (Use a cutter, etc.) Then attach cellophane tape to the cut surface and pull it firmly.
Now, if even a little bit of ink remains on the tape, the ink adhesion will fail.
